Alternative Treatments and Therapies
1. Avoiding stimulants like caffeine, sugar, chocolate, nicotine and others will help reduce symptoms by helping you to stay calm and keep your adrenaline fom rising quite so high. It always comes back to the same old answers but eating and drinking in a healthy way will help you to become less prone to a panic attack by keeping your body aligned.
2. Make sure you try to get in at least 15 minutes of exercise a day (depending on your current health and doctors advise of course) to help keep you happy. It doesn't have to be high impact aerobics either! You can go for a walk around the block or a nice swim at the pool.
3. This is one that I struggled with a bit because there was always so much to do. You must make sure you get plenty of sleep. I ended up making a plan that I would get 7 hours sleep a night to make sure I was well rested and not starting the day already under stress by not sleeping enough. This has now become an enjoyment and I look forward to the nightly ritual of getting ready for bed then lying down and reading for 20 minutes before drifting off...
There are also a lot of other natural an holistic Panic Treatments:
4. Herbal medicines such as St Johns Wort, Passion Flower and Lavender are used in herbal teas, perfumes and scented oils to help relieve stress and maintain a calm state of mind.
5. Positive thinking and/ or removing yourself from situations which cause attacks. This one is more a case of willpower than anything. While it may be possible to achieve once or twice, to constantly control your environment to remove any possible threats is unrealistic in our modern world.
Whatever your choice of treatment, it is important to make sure that you are comfortable in the way the system works or you could end up causing an attack by trying not to have one. Make sure you only use a tried and tested method to treat your panic or anxiety attacks.
